Window Seats With No Window
The seat map says "window." The boarding pass says "A." Then you sit down and there's just a blank wall. We've found 276 affected seats across every aircraft we cover.

Why does this happen?
Aircraft windows and seat rows aren't spaced the same way. That's why some "window seats" end up next to a blank wall.
Near emergency exits, overwing areas, and equipment bays, structural reinforcements in the fuselage replace window cutouts entirely. The airline still labels it a "window seat" because it's in column A or F — but there's no actual window.
Some seats have a window that's misaligned — shifted forward or backward from your natural line of sight. These are marked separately below.

What to do about it
Check the seat map before you book. Every seat map on RowHint flags windowless and misaligned window seats with a specific note. If you want a view, pick a different row on the same side of the aircraft — or switch to the other side (column A vs F), since windowless seats are often asymmetrical.
If you're stuck in a windowless seat, the silver lining: you won't have sun glare during the flight, and the fuselage wall is slightly warmer there in cold climates because there's no window insulation gap.
Safe rows for window lovers
On most aircraft, rows 4–8 on either side are almost always safe for a true window view. They're far from the overwing and equipment areas where window gaps tend to occur. Exit row windows are also always present — they're part of the emergency exit structure.
